Embarking on a Journey of Self-Discovery, Creativity, and Mental Well-Being
“The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second-best time is now.”
— Chinese Proverb
Well, my friends, I’m starting this blog now.
It was conceived on a clear night a couple of days after a full moon, not long ago.
Seated in my home office, I gazed out the window at the clear night sky. The moon, still large and particularly bright, served as a profound source of inspiration.
A Journey to Self-Care
Over the years, I’d occasionally be encouraged to start a blog, but I always quickly dismissed the idea.
Writing on a schedule was manageable for work; I could meet deadlines with ease and without worry.
However, adhering to a self-imposed writing schedule, devoid of a guaranteed paycheck for motivation, demanded a level of self-discipline I was reluctant to embrace.
Before that fateful night, I had already decided to start taking better care of myself, both physically and mentally.
I made a commitment to make time and space to engage in some kind of creative activity everyday as an outlet for stress.
Pinterest and Instagram offered numerous ideas, and I read dozens of blog articles. The idea of blogging consistently presented itself, yet, as usual, I wrote it off for various reasons, mostly fear.
Now, I sat staring at the glowing moon, allowing it to guide me into a meditative state.
As I let my mind clear and open, I unexpectedly discovered thoughts flowing toward the idea of starting a blog.
What followed was such a strong surge of ideas and an inclination to start that I had to go with the momentum and follow through. And so here we are.
Blog’s Mission and Goals
Given the personal journey I’m on, it seems natural that this blog will feature uplifting content inspiring and motivating others to unlock their inner creativity while promoting mental health and well-being.
I’ll explore topics at the intersection of mental health & well-being, creativity & the arts, and pursuing happiness & finding joy.
My goal is to bring inspiration, hope, and a shared sense of belonging through advice, tips, information, and personal stories & experiences.
Embracing Growth
While I’ve been writing for most of my life, it dwindled after leaving my professional Communications career several years ago, and even more so since having my two beautiful children.
The idea for this blog came from what I’d like to think of as divine inspiration, but the decision to follow through was rooted in my goal to engage in something creative every day.
The motivation to sustain this endeavour stems from the opportunities and hope that, through shared wisdom and insights, I am helping others discover hidden aspects of themselves, find joy, form connections, or progress on their journey toward their highest good.
Writing regularly for the foreseeable future feels daunting, though I believe that stepping outside our comfort zones regularly is essential for achieving our best selves, so I’m embracing the challenge.
Many of us feel as though we are not good enough, or that we don’t really know what we’re doing when we start something.
After all, aren’t we all just making it up as we go along? This does not mean failure is certain. It means there is a lot of room to learn and grow.
In the first article, we’ll explore simple ways to unlock your inner creativity, including tips for getting in the right headspace and finding the confidence to unleash your self-expression.
Follow this blog for informative articles, listicles, how-tos, personal stories, and the occasional art project.

Gratitude and Welcome
Life is busy, and I appreciate you taking the time to read this. I hope you’ll include me in your journey towards a brighter, more vibrant, joyful and lighter existence.
I’m excited to launch this project, and grateful for the personal growth and opportunities it may lead to.
I acknowledge the privilege & freedoms afforded to me by my place of birth, ethnicity, physical health, and access to mental health care.
I extend my gratitude to all who have encouraged me, supported my endeavours, and contributed to my journey.
Special thanks to my friend who helped me move forward with this blog, offering precisely what I needed, in the right way, at the right time.
This blog is a safe place for all. Whether you are interested in getting creative or have an interest in mental wellness – or both! – I’m happy you are here, and I look forward to cultivating our best selves together.
Peace, light, and love.
